Have we got a deal for you! Truly a great BOGO! (But you gotta act fast to get this deal) Find out as you read along….
This post isn’t about convincing you to start drawing or painting (although, if you do- hooray!). This is about what my colleague Lezlie Laws and I can do for you.
Do you consider yourself creative? I didn’t use to. I wanted to use that adjective to describe myself, but I didn’t because I thought that was the domain of people who made art. (And I didn’t start making art until one year ago, or so I thought). Here is what I have learned: if you are alive, you get to consider yourself creative! For how you make it through life, for how you live, do your work, make life fun for yourself, for how you love and show appreciation for life.
Many of use want to know how we can increase the feeling of being happy or more creative in our lives. We want to help you. Please read on, about what our latest workshop offering can do for you:
Adapted From LifeArt Studio:
What makes us creative? What IS creativity? Does everyone have it? If so, why don’t I feel so creative? And if I do have it, why don’t I access it on a regular basis?
Maybe you have a job that asks you to create on demand. Or maybe you have a creative endeavor you’ve been ignoring for a while, and you really want to get back to it. Or maybe you just want to live your life with more presence, more aliveness, more passion, more creative spirit. Most of us have a deep need to express our perceptions, ideas, and imaginings in unique ways. That yearning is our creative spirit nudging us to shape, make, experience, design, create.
The workshops offered with LifeArt Studio use this research to help us access to our creative potential. We believe everyone has unique and quite remarkable creative abilities. But we also note that it’s very easy to lose our faith in that potential. We get busy, we become distracted, we sometimes feel lazy about cultivating our highest creative potential. And when that happens, we need a nudge.
Reading a good book can help. Being around other creative people often motivates us to return to an artful project. And engaging in study and practice can also rekindle the flame of living creatively and making the art we were born to create.
Saturday, March 28, we offer a powerful “nudge” for you. Lezlie Laws, of LifeArt Studio will join me as we present a technique that many have found useful for disarming the beliefs and counter-intentions that hold creative potential hostage. We hold unexamined assumptions about what is possible for us. We act as if change is difficult, even impossible. And when these destructive habits of mind become entrenched, we don’t have access to the innate abilities we have to express ourselves in happy, lively, creatively satisfying ways.
EFT, or emotional freedom technique, is a simple process of gently tapping meridian points on the head, shoulders, and hands to release emotional “locks.” When you first see it being done you can’t help laughing, or thinking it’s silly. You might wonder how can something so seemingly simple release negative beliefs? But we will explain exactly how it works, (there’s good neuroscience behind this!) and you’ll try it out for yourself to see how it feels within your own body and mind.
We’ll begin this workshop with Lezlie first coaxing those pesky inner critics into the open. You have to know what negative beliefs you’re walking around with before you can start releasing them! And then, I will show you how to skillfully begin to usher those critics right out of your head so that you really do have the hope, the energy, and the will to begin to live more creatively and happily.
I know, I know. It sounds too easy, doesn’t it? But maybe that very skepticism is one of those entrenched negative beliefs that keeps us from exploring happier, more productive, or more creative aspects of ourselves. After all, if we believe making such a shift is mysterious, impossible, overwhelming, or just too hard to do, it’s just easier not to try making a shift at all. Right?
Let’s banish that belief. Come and spend a few hours with us, learn a new creativity hack, and accept a loving nudge from us to drop an old thought pattern and take up one that makes your life happier, more creative, more intentional. It’s possible.
And here’s the deal hinted at in the title of this post: For the next 48 hours we are running a “tapping” special on this workshop. If you sign up with 48 hours of receiving this email, you can bring a friend for free. How cool is that? All you need to do is email Lezlie to place a reservation for this person. This will reduce the cost of the workshop by 50%! It’s a March Madness deal! BOGO Baby!
I hope you will join me and Lezlie Laws on Saturday, March 28, for “Tapping the Inner Critic Out of Your Head.” It wasn’t until I started using Tapping that I recognized an actual shift in my thinking, as Nick Ortner says. You can find registration information here.
